MAC X Maleficent Sculpting Powder and Lipstick Review / Kontür Pudrası ve Ruj Incelemesi

      For the first time in ages (we're talking years here) I'd been looking forward to a collection release by Mac.The collection came out online in Turkey on the 29th of last month and was available to buy on the 30th in Mac stores. Out of the total eight pieces in this collection I only bought two. If we were to briefly mention the packaging I would say that it definitely doesn't have the most eye-catching design I've ever seen but if they had gone overboard, I think it could have led to it looking juvenile; at least in my opinion anyways.

      Uzun zamandır ilk defa (yıllardan bahsediyoruz yani burada) Mac'ın çıkaracağı bir koleksiyonu dört gözle bekliyordum. Koleksiyon Türkiye'de gecen ayın 29'unda online satışa sunulup, 30'unda Mac mağazalarinda satılmaya başlandı. Toplamda sekiz parçadan oluşan bu koleksiyondan sadece iki parça aldım. Koleksiyonun ambalajından kısaca bahsedecek olursak kesinlikle gördüğüm en göz alıcı dizayna sahip değil ama aşırıya kaçmaları çocukca gözmesine sebep olabilirdi; en azından fikrimce oyle.

     Those who know me know just how much of a sucker I am for red lipstick. That's why I just had to buy this. Although I own more lipsticks than I could finish, the last time I bought myself a lipstick was in february so I let this one slide by.

       Beni tanıyanlar kırmızı ruja ne kadar düşkün olduğumu bilir. O yüzden bunu almak zorundaydım. Bitirebileceğimden fazla ruja sahip olmama rağmen en son kendime şubatta ruj aldığım için bunun araya karışmasına izin verdim.

  The first product I bought from the collection was the lipstick. It is called 'True Love's Kiss' and has an Amplified finish. This finish makes it easy to apply but it may not be for somebody who prefers a matte look as it is quite a glossy lipstick. Wear time for me is around 4 hours, so not amazing. After that I start to get some feathering on my top lip. Although, if paired with a lip liner, I'm sure the longevity could be extended.

   Koleksiyondan aldığım ilk ürün rujdu. Adı 'True Love's Kiss' ve Amplified bir bitişe sahip. Bitişi sürümünü kolay yapıyor ama mat bir görünümü tercih edenlerin seçeneği olmayabilir çünkü oldukça parlak bir ruj. Kalıcığı benim için 4 saat cıvarında, yani mükemmel değil. Ondan sonra üst dudağımın üstüne taşma yapıyor. Gerçi dudak kalemiyle beraber kullanılırsa eminim kalıcılık süresi arttırılabilir.

 

  Here's how it looks on my lips. This shade of red suits my skin tone really well but as someone who eats and drinks a lot, I have to reapply a few times throughout the day.

 Bu da dudağımdaki görünüşü. Bu ton kırmızı, ten rengime baya iyi uyuyor ama çok yiyip içen biri olarak gün içerisinde ruju birkaç kere tazelemem gerekiyor.

  
      The other product I bought is the 'Sculpt' sculpting powder. Sculpt is a Mac pro product anyways and can be bought online as well. The only difference is that it is sold in pan form.

    Aldığım diğer ürün 'Sculpt' kontür pudrasıydı. Sculpt zaten Mac'ın pro ürünlerinden ve online olarak da alınabiliyor. Tek farkı refill olarak satılıyor olması.

    Texture wise it's a great product; not too hard and not too soft. I think it's suitable for both contour novices and experts to use. Although, I've only been using it for two days I don't think I'll be taking it out of my makeup bag anytime soon. To be honest I can't really comment on the wear time yet as I always set my makeup with Urban Decay's Makeup Setting Spray. Once set, the wear time is around 12 hours.

     Yapı olarak çok güzel bir ürün; ne fazla sert, ne de fazla yumuşak. Bence hem kontürlemede uzman olanların hem de acemi olanların kullanımı için uygun. Kullanmaya başlayalı iki gün olmuş olmasına rağmen yakın bir gelecekte makyaj çantamdan çıkaracağımı düsünmüyorum. Dürüst olmak gerekirse kalıcılığı hakkında henüz bir yorum yapamayacağım çünkü her zaman makyajımı Urban Decay'ın makyaj sabitleyici spreyiyle sabitliyorum. Sabitlenmiş halinin kalıcılığı 12 saat civarında. 

 
    Here's what my face looks like from the side. In this picture both my cheekbones and my jawline have been contoured. Colour wise it looks very natural and is available in various other shades in pan form.

    Bu da yüzümün yandan görünümü. Bu resimde hem elmacık kemiklerimi hem de çenemin alt hattını kontürledim. Renk olarak çok doğal duruyor ve refill olarak farklı tonları mevcut.

Mac 187 Brush Review / Mac 187 Fırça Incelemesi

     I bought this brush around three years ago at the Mac store in Akmerkez. When Sevil had run out of the Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush I went down to Mac and thought; 'Well, I might as well get this then.' Since then it has been a staple piece in my collection.

 Bu fırçayı yaklaşık üç sene önce Akmerkez'deki Mac mağazasından almıştım. Sevilde Shiseidonun fondöten fırçası kalmayınca Mac'e inip 'o zaman bari bunu alayım' diye düşünmüştüm.  O günden beri koleksiyonumun esas parçalarından biri olmuştur.

    

     Being made of natural and synthetic fibers, this brush is ideal for the application of most base products. Up until now I have used this brush for many purposes but currently only use it for one, and that is for applying blusher with. In the picture bellow you can see how the brush picks up the pigments of highly pigmented blushers. The synthetic part of the brush allows for the even distribution of colour on the cheeks.

  Doğal ve sentetik kıllardan yapılmış olması, bu fırçayı çoğu baz ürünün uygulaması için ideal kılıyor. Şu ana kadar bu fırçayı birçok işlev için kullandım ama bu aralar sadece bir şey için kullanıyorum; o da allık sürmek için. Aşağıdaki fotoğrafta pigmentasyonu yoğun olan allıklarda fırçanın pigmentleri nasıl yakaladığını gorebilirsiniz. Fırçanın sentetik beyaz kısmı rengin yanaklara eşit dağılımını sağlıyor.

     The only downfall to this brush is how much it sheds. When I first started using it, it would shed like crazy and still continues to shed every now and again which I must admit is quite annoying especially considering how expensive it is. I am willing to overlook this however because -to me- it is one of those perfect 'do it all' brushes.

Bu fıçanın tek eksi yönü ne kadar dökülme yaptığı. Ilk kullanmaya başladığımda deli gibi dökülme yapıyordu ve hala ara sıra dökülmeye devam ediyor, itiraf etmeliyim ki özellikle ne kadar pahalı olduğunu göz önunde bulundurunca, bu baya sinir bozucu bir faktör. Ancak bunu göz ardı etmeye razıyım cünkü -bana göre- bu  'her şeyi yapabilen' o mükemmel fırçalardan biri.

Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stain No.14 Fuschia Dore

     This lipstick was gifted to me by my sister in June of 2013. Since then, it has been a favourite of mine and is almost coming to an end.  YSL describes glossy stains as 'not exactly lipstick, not exactly gloss, and so much more than a simple lip stain. They're absolutely spot on with their description.
   

     They have the weightlessness of a lip stain and whilst giving the shine of a lip gloss they are able to maintain the longevity of a lipstick. Wear time for me is around 4-6 hours, depending on how much I eat or drink.

  Bu ruj bana kardesim tarafindan 2013'ün Haziran'ında hediye edilmisti. O zamandan beri favorilerimden biri olup, neredeyse sonuna gelmek üzere. YSL glossy stainleri, 'tam olarak ruj degil, tam olarak gloss degil ve basit bir dudak boyasından cok daha fazla.' olarak tanimliyor. Bu tanimlamalarılya tam üstüne basmislar.

  Bir dudak boyasının hafifliğine sahipler ve bir dudak parlatıcısının işiltisini vermekle beraber, bir rujun kalıcılığını muhafaza edebiliyorlar. Kalıcılığı benim için, ne kadar yiyip ictiğime bağli olarak 4-6 saat civarinda.

       Bellow are two swatches of the lipstick on my hand. The right one being two coats of the lipstick and the left being two coats wiped off with a wet wipe after around twenty seconds. As you can see, it does leave quite a stain, even after wiped off.

  Aşağıda rujun elimdeki iki örneği mevcut. Sağdaki rujdan iki kat olup, soldaki iki katın yirmi saniye sonra ıslak mendille silinmiş halidir. Gördüğünüz gibi, silindikten sonra bile baya bir leke birakiyor.
 
 

      The shade I own, although named fuschia, dries down to a berry pink once applied. I would say it's possibly not best choice for those with chapped lips as they don't offer any hydration. The scent is another point, it's reminiscent of synthetic cherries. Personally, I love the smell but I'm sure there will be many who don't.

  Sahip olduğum rengin fuşya adlı olmasına rağmen, sürüldükten sonra böğürtlenimsi bir pembeye kuruyor. Nemlendirme vermedikleri için çatlak dudaklara sahip olanlar için en iyi seçim olmayabilir. Kokulari ise başka bir nokta, sentetik kirazlari animsatıyorlar. Sahsen kokuyu cok seviyorum ama sevmeyecek olan elbet çok vardır.
